GOP senators slam Biden for working with Russia on Iran deal during Ukraine invasion: ‘Insane’

A group of Republican senators slammed President Biden at a press conference on Wednesday and sharply criticized him for working with Russia on a nuclear deal with Iran while Russian President Vladimir Putin unleashes chaos and violence. bloodshed in Ukraine.

“This deal with Iran, if announced, will be a massive win for Vladimir Putin,” Texas Senator Cruz said at the press conference, surrounded by several fellow Republican senators. “Because the Biden administration was keen to tell Putin and the Ayatollah, of course we will have an exception for the Iran sanctions deal against Russia, which means Putin will earn billions in transactions. oil and gas, in nuclear deals and in arms deals.”

Cruz added that the Biden administration is “inconsistently” announcing sanctions against Russia while “creating a massive subsidy” for Russia that “makes no sense.”

“It’s not right, we should march,” Republican Sen. Jim Risch insisted at the press conference. “It doesn’t need to be done now and especially it doesn’t need to be done when we have the problems we have in Ukraine. We should walk.”


“Mr. President, you’re the only one in America doing business with Russians, stop doing business with Russians,” Risch added as he clapped his hand on the podium. “Don’t let them negotiate for us, walk this deal.”

Republican Senator Joni Ernst said at the press conference that she doesn’t understand Biden’s foreign policy and called the collaboration with Russia on an Iran nuclear deal “crazy”.

“Russia is the country with tanks going through Ukraine right now, killing innocent civilians,” Ernst said. “Children, women, people we care about and yet they are using these Russians to negotiate a deal with another of our close adversaries, Iran.”


Senator Tom Barrasso agreed with Risch, Ernst and Cruz and criticized the administration for working with Russia on the deal as the country invades Ukraine.

“It is the Russians who are conducting the negotiations on behalf of the United States,” said the Republican from Wyoming. “You turn on the TV and the radio and see what the Russians are doing in Ukraine. How on earth can we allow them to negotiate on our behalf?

Republicans also criticized President Biden for “working with our adversaries” around the world to mitigate Russian disruption of oil markets rather than opening up energy production in the United States.

“What we have is an administration that prefers to deal with international killers rather than American drillers,” Sen. Bill Hagerty said. “This, my friends, has got to stop and we could stop it tomorrow. All we have to do is get this administration to come out and make it clear that we’re going to reopen the Keystone XL pipeline. That we’re going to come back in We’re going to be energy independent again, that we’re going to take away this huge leverage that Vladimir Putin has over the US economy.

The White House did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment.
