Iran: Islamic Revolutionary Guard facility fire injures 3 – report

A fire broke out on Sunday evening at one of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s (IRGC) elite research centers in western Tehran, state media reported.
“On Sunday evening, a fire broke out at one of the IRGC’s research centers in western Tehran. Three people were injured and the blaze was brought under control,” Iranian state television said quoting a press release from the IRGC.

No reason was given for the incident.

A series of explosions and fires have affected industrial sites across Iran, including a number of petrochemical plants, in recent months and last year. Iranian officials called most of the cases incidents or accidents, although some reports claimed at least some of them involved criminal act.

Aging infrastructure in Iran has also been blamed for at least some of the incidents. Frequent power outages recently hit Iran amid a heat wave.
